Headaches are a common complaint which most people have experienced at one time or another. Some people can experience intense severe pain when suffering with headaches, whilst other people describe their pain as a dull ache. Frequency also differs between individuals and is often associated with stress, worry and tension, but may also be due to injury to the neck and upper back.

The traditional treatment for headaches is usually a pain killer such as a paracetamol, however this treats just the symptoms, but not the cause. Osteopathy assesses the whole body and treats the problem which presents in the form headaches.

Commonly, osteopathic treatment will include soft tissue release techniques and gentle manipulation of the upper back and neck. Further advice can also be provided to help reduce the frequency and intensity of headaches.
